A large part of the north core skyline is for sale.
The provincial building on Red River Road and Water Street will be sold along with seven other provincially-owned buildings across Ontario in an effort to generate $500 million in revenue.
It is part of a recommendation in the Drummond Report for Ontario to sell and lease back buildings.
MPP Bill Mauro (Lib., Thunder Bay-Atikokan) said his main concern was with employees in the building, but since he’s been assured there are no job losses associated with the sale, it’s not a problem.
The work that’s going on there now continues on an extended period of time,” he said.
Mauro didn’t know what the building is expected to be listed at.
