Lakehead Public School Board trustees have responded to a letter from the education minister outlining what the school board should do to deal with the ministry.
The letter outlined parameters set in a memorandum of understanding between the Catholic Teachers Association and Ministry of Education. Education Minister Laurel Broten sent the parameters to trustees encouraging the board to use them as roadwork for their own deals with the ministry.
Board Chair Deborah Massaro says responding helps them remain transparent.
She says in the response they'll address some points they don't agree with such as the hiring practices mentioned in the MOU as well as the diagnostic testing.
Students will be starting school on Sept. 5 as scheduled, she added.
