THUNDE RBAY -- Public high school teachers have ratified their contract.
Teachers with OSSTF ratified the deal with Lakehead Public Schools Tuesday afternoon. President Paul Caccamo said it was a long process to get the three-year contract ratified but teachers are happy they can get back to focusing on what matters.
"We're definitely satisfied and we're looking forward to getting back to focusing on the types of things that matter most, which is quality programs in our secondary schools," he said.
Caccamo couldn't provide details about what's in the contract but said a lot of it is focused on formal structures to have conversations between the union and board about issues like professional development and health and safety.
The contract will expire in 2017.
