Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle says he hasn’t heard anything official about the reported prorogation of the Ontario legislature being planned Premier Kathleen Wynne.
Gravelle on Thursday said it’s news to him.
“I haven’t seen anything in that regard,” said the longtime MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North.
The province made the move official on Thursday, saying Wynne got the approval of Lieut-Gov. Elizabeth Dowdeswell to prorogue the legislature at noon. The Speech from the Throne is scheduled for Monday and no sitting days are expected to be lost.
Wynne, in a release, said the government will reintroduce all government bills that were before the legislature prior to prorogation in order to allow debate on them to continue.
