THUNDER BAY -- A second charitable radio broadcast marathon has provided the city's disaster relief fund with another $13,400.

THUNDER BAY -- A second charitable radio broadcast marathon has provided the city's disaster relief fund with another $13,400.

Dougall Media's three local radio stations -- Rock 94, CKPR and The Thunder -- set up at the Intercity Shopping Centre Wednesday for an all day live-on-location broadcast. The broadcast marathon was set up in an effort to raise more money for the Thunder Bay and Area Disaster Relief Fund.

The relief fund's committee gave itself a Jan. 31 deadline to raise money. Funds provided to that fund will be matched by the provincial government at a rate of two-to-one.

An earlier fundraising effort by the three radio stations provided the disaster relief fund with more than $300,000.
