An area MP says he isn’t happy with possible leaks that were widely reported before the federal budget was officially released Tuesday, and now he’s bringing his concerns to the country’s ethics commissioner.

MP John Rafferty (NDP, Thunder Bay – Rainy River) said he has already sent a letter regarding details about the cyclotron funding for Thunder Bay being leaked to media prior to the federal budget’s release.

He said the Ministry of Science and Technology has been specifically mentioned in media reports as leaking the information.

Rafferty is requesting an investigation, but says it is unclear how long it will take to hear back from the commissioner.
