RAINY RIVER, Ont. — Anglers can do their ice fishing in style, thanks to a new service offered by Rainy River resident Vaughn Murray.
The retired man acquired a former stretch limousine from a neighbour, and converted it to an ice fishing shack that he's parked on the river.
Murray cut two holes through the floor of the 1994 Lincoln and added an electric heater.
For $100, a group of four can spend the day fishing from the comfort of the car, with Murray supplying all the necessary gear.
The former railroad conductor says business has taken off since he started rentals last month.
But he's not the only Northwestern Ontario resident to come up with a unique way to use a car for ice fishing.
A Red Rock man built a motorized ice fishing shack by replacing the wheels on a vehicle with skis and rubberized tracks.
