LAKE OF THE WOODS, Ont -- A Thunder Bay RCMP detachment marine patrol is reporting the rescue of two boaters, who were stranded on Lake of the Woods.
The two US citizens had been fishing in American waters on July 31 when their boat began taking on water and capsized.
The pair reportedly drifted with the overturned boat for about four hours, before washing ashore on a remote island on the Canadian side of the lake.
They stayed on the remote island for the next three days, without food or water, before being spotted by the passing RCMP patrol boat.
The pair had not been reported missing.
They were transported to the US side of the border, where hey received medical attention for exposure and dehydration.
