OPP news release:
RED LAKE -- On May 11, 2015, members of the Red Lake OPP Community Drug Action Team, and the Red Lake Crime Unit conducted a Controlled Drug and Substances Act investigation within the Municipality of Red Lake.
As a result of the investigation, police seized over a half-pound of cocaine with an approximate street value of $25000. Police subsequently executed a search warrant at a Red Lake residence which resulted in further evidence of drug trafficking.
Anthony HOWELL, age 31 of the Municipality of Red Lake, has been charged with:
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Tony RANGER, age 24 of the Municipality of Red Lake, has been charged with:
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine) contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
HOWELL has been remanded into custody. RANGER is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on May 28, 2015.
