A long-awaited coroner's inquest into the tragic death of an area teenager was delayed again Tuesday.

A pre-inquest hearing regarding 15-year-old Reggie Bushie was scheduled to begin Tuesday morning. But regional coroner Dr. Michael Wilson said one of the parties indicated they were not ready to proceed with the hearing. It's now been delayed until next Wednesday.

Bushie's body was recovered from the McIntyre River on November 1, 2007.  He was a student from Poplar Hill First Nation. The exact cause of death is still unknown.

A coroner's inquest with a five-member jury panel was supposed to commence in 2009 but it's been put on hold several times due to concerns about a lack of First Nations representation on the province's jury rolls.

The hearing is expected to last three days and will deal with the appropriateness of the new jury roll in the Thunder Bay area.
