Reggie Bushie inquest to resume soon, hearing scheduled for later this month

The North West Region Coroner's Office announced Tuesday that it will resume proceedings related to the inquest into the death of Reggie Bushie.

Reggie was a 15-year-old student from Dennis Franklin Cromartie High School whose body was pulled from the McIntyre River in November 2007.

An inquest into the circumstances surrounding his death has been stalled amid questions surrounding a lack of Aboriginal representation on jury rolls.

A hearing has now been scheduled for July 21 and 22 to set a date for the inquest.

It is expected that presiding Coroner, Dr. David Eden will address the jury representation issue at that time.
