The Winnipeg Free Press is reporting that Thunder Bay is indeed one of the 13 Canadian Target locations bought up by American-based Lowe's Home Improvement.
Officials at Intercity Shopping Centre were contacted earlier today about the possibility of the retail giant moving into the mall and said they could neither confirm nor deny the report.
According to the Free Press, a real-estate insider with intimate knowledge of the Lowes’ deal said while Winnipeg would not be getting a location, Thunder Bay is in the mix.
“I’ve seen the list,” the official told the paper. “They’re in Regina and Thunder Bay, but are not in Manitoba.”
Target closed all of its Canadian locations earlier this year, including Thunder Bay, after less than two years in the market.
