Last year, more than 28 kilometres of Highway 17 east of Terrace Bay was resurfaced, and now that work is continuing.
Construction work to re-pave more than 16 kilometres of Highway 17 West of Terrace Bay to Schreiber began this week.
The work has created about 40 jobs in the area and is meant to improve the pavement condition and reduce maintenance requirements as part of the McGuinty government's Growth Plan for Northern Ontario.
Pioneer Construction was awarded the $4.2-million project, and completion is set for later this year.
