RFDA introduces special Christmas hamper for singles, seniors

Now that the Christmas Cheer Fund is catering exclusively to families this year, the Regional Food Distribution Association is looking to fill the void for singles and seniors.

Now that the Christmas Cheer Fund is catering exclusively to families this year, the Regional Food Distribution Association is looking to fill the void for singles and seniors.

People who will no longer be getting a Christmas Cheer hamper can apply to the RFDA for an Emergency Holiday Hamper.

Instead of a turkey, which is too large for one person, these hampers will include a small ham, oranges, soups, cereal and Christmas treats.

RFDA Board Member Larry Brigham says they're looking for food donations to help fill the hampers.

People can register to receive the Emergency Holiday Hamper by calling 211, and they will directed to a food bank near their home to pick up their hamper.
