THUNDER BAY – RibFest is on the move.
The popular August event, featuring some of Canada’s top ribbers, will switch venues in 2019, heading from the downtown north core to the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition grounds.
Organizers cited the need for more space for RibFest, which draws tens of thousands of people each summer.
“We’re excited to bring the festival to the center of the city. The larger venue should make for a more enjoyable experience for those who attend. This is our signature fundraiser and we thank the community for being so supportive in the past to allow the event to be bigger and better this year,” says Gladys Berringer, executive director of Our Kids Count.
More details about the Aug. 23 to Aug 25 event will be unveiled on Wednesday at a news conference at the CLE.
