The Conservatives have maintained their Northwestern Ontario representation.
MP Greg Rickford won his Kenora riding re-election bid in a landslide victory over his opponents Monday night. Rickford was swept back into office with more than 10,500 votes, a significant lead over second place NDP challenger Tania Cameron, who was able to capture more than 6,500 votes.
Liberal challenger Roger Valley, who represented the riding in the House twice before becoming the runner up against Rickford in the 2008 federal election, was relegated to a third-place finish this time around.
Valley managed to capture 21 per cent of the ballots cast in the Kenora riding, which represented slightly more than 5,000 votes.
With 149 out of 155 polls reporting, Green Party candidate Mike Schwindt had collected more than 600 votes, while independent candidate Kelvin Chicago-Boucher received 139.
