THUNDER BAY -- Rural schools have been closed and rural school buses have been cancelled.
Lakehead Public Schools announced the transportation cancellation early Monday morning on its website, citing poor weather and road conditions in some rural areas.
With the transportation cancellation comes the closure of the following public schools:
- Crestview
- Five Mile
- Gorham and Ware
- Kakabeka
- McKenzie
- Nor’Westerview
- Whitefish
- Valley Central
Urban schools remain open.
