Firefigthers continue to investigate how an RV caught fire on the Thunder Bay Expressway Friday.

Four people were travelling in the RV at the time, heading home to Wisconsin after spending a few days in Thunder Bay, when they noticed a funny smell in the vehicle.

One of the passengers said they had turned around to head to a nearby gas station when they realized the vehicle was on fire.

One witness said the blaze started around the Oliver Road section of the Expressway.

Firefighters received the call just after 12:15 p.m. Friday.

They are still investigating the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this time.

No one was injured in the incident, but one of the RV passengers said they were shaken up.

Traffic was reduced to a single lane on the Expressway for about half an hour, causing traffic to back up from John Street.
