A man and woman face numerous charges following some intoxicated library browsing early Thursday morning.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say officers responded to a security alarm at Bishop E.Q Jennings School on 775 John Street around 2:30 a.m.

Police officers and Apex security guards searched the building and found two intoxicated people in the library.

"The two individuals had broken through a door in the vicinity," police spokeswoman Julie Tilbury said Thursday afternoon.

One of the accused was injured during the alleged break-in, leaving a trail of blood in the school, which forced Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board officials to close the school for the day, the penultimate day of the school year.

A 20-year-old woman has been charged with mischief under $5,000, while a 31-year-old man has been charged with mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation.

Both suspects are expected to make a court appearance Thursday.
