THUNDER BAY -- It was a close call for a double amputee this afternoon, after he became involved in a collision between a motor vehicle and his mobility scooter.
The man and his scooter were crossing the parking lot of the Thunder Bay Casino on Park Avenue, when he was involved in a low-speed collision with a minivan.
The scooter was crushed underneath the van, but the driver was able to escape unharmed.
Thunder Bay Police were on scene, and say it was fortunate that no-one was hurt.
The investigation continues.
