Search continues for missing angler near Lake of the Woods

The search continues in an area near Lake of the Woods for a missing American angler. Richard Herman, 69, of Peoria, Ill., was reported missing Monday night when he and a companion failed to return to a friend’s camp as expected.

The search continues in an area near Lake of the Woods for a missing American angler.

Richard Herman, 69, of Peoria, Ill., was reported missing Monday night when he and a companion failed to return to a friend’s camp as expected.

The body of 73-year-old James Wealther was located the next day washed up on shore and the men's capsized fishing boat was located nearby.

The OPP's emergency response unit, the marine unit and the underwater search and recovery team are all involved in the search.
