Search warrant leads to cocaine seizure

RED LAKE, Ont. – A 26-year-old Red Lake man faces a number of drug-related charges following a drug bust.

Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant Wednesday on a residence in Red Lake.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old was arrested and charged for possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing Friday.

Police also arrested and charged an 18-year-old from Red Lake with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.

The 18-year-old was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 28.
