Search warrant leads to seizure of drugs, cash and firearm

Three people are facing charges following an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs.

KENORA, Ont. – Three individuals are facing drug-related charges following an execution of search warrant in Kenora last week.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, the OPP community Street Crime Unit, Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau and Kenora OPP executed a search warrant on Nov. 10 around 5:30 p.m. at a Heenan Place residence.

Police say the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Northwest region.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized drugs, cash, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Police have charged Gregory Blackwood, 50, Tyler Blackwood, 20, and Stephanie Hames, 44, with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, and prohibited device or ammunition.

All of the accused were released to attend the Kenora Courthouse on Dec. 3, 2020 to answer to the charges.
