THUNDER BAY – Two Thunder Bay residents are facing charges after an unsafely stored semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle was seized during a search at a local residence.
Police, in a release issued on Thursday, say a search warrant was executed after receiving complaints from the public in regards to suspected drug activity at a residence in the 100 block of North Marks Street.
Officers executed a search warrant on Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. and police located a loaded, easily accessible and unsafely stored semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle, which had been illegally modified for concealment and a small amount of cocaine.
A 25-year-old Thunder Bay man faces various firearms charges and a breach of probation charge.
A 25-year-old Thunder Bay woman also faces various firearms charges and a possession of cocaine charge.
Both have been remanded into custody.
