The on-scene investigation into a fire at a pair of Neebing Avenue townhouses should conclude Thursday, said fire prevention officer Bob Vander Ploeg.

“We were there most of the day today with the fire investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office,” he said Wednesday afternoon.

“We went through the physical evidence on site. We looked at materials that had burned and tried to locate where the fire may have started by observing where the greatest heat damage was, but it was difficult because the apartment was unoccupied and renovations had been ongoing for some time,” added Vander Ploeg.

No one was hurt in the blaze that gutted two vacant, side-by-side row houses on Neebing Avenue Tuesday morning.

The fire investigator and somebody from the Electrical Safety Authority will be on site again Thursday to try to determine the cause of the fire.
