THUNDER BAY - A second employee at Walmart has tested positive for COVID-19 and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit is investigating what it says is a low-risk for exposure.

In a media release issued late Thursday, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit said an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 this week is an employee at Walmart on Memorial Avenue.

This is the second employee at the Walmart location to test positive for the virus, with another case being made public on May 1.

According to the health unit, there is a low-risk of exposure for customers who used the Walmart pickup service or were in store on May 3, 6, 7, 8, or 9.

Anyone who may have been in the store on these dates is advised to monitor for symptoms and if symptoms develop to call the Thunder Bay District Health Unit at 625-5900.

The health unit said it is following up with Walmart to determine if other staff may have been exposed.
