THUNDER BAY - Emergency crews are on the scene of what is being called a serious collision that has closed Highway 11/17 east of Thunder Bay.
The collision occurred between Pearl and Highway 587. According to social media posts by Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services, the highway is closed in both directions.
Several ambulances and Ornge responded to the scene. Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services described the collision as serious. Shuniah Fire crews cleared the scene just after 3:30 p.m.
Ontario Provincial Police also responded to the scene and the highway remains closed at this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays if travelling.
