THUNDER BAY -- More than 70 used bicycles, along with hand tools, jewelry and other assorted items are upon the block.
Thunder Bay Police are hosting their annual auction Thursday evening, with hundreds of bidders expected to turn out.
Police Property Clerk Maggie Moffat says the money collected is used to fund recreational events throughout the city, such as the Kite Festival.
The proceeds at this auction will be a bit less this year, because they normally have a few hundred bicycles.
Moffat adds that it’s a good idea to come early to register and get a bidding number, and be prepared to take the purchase home that evening.
The Auction will be held around the back of the Balmoral Police Station, starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Payments can be made by cash, approved cheques with ID and with Visa.
