SHEBANDOWAN -- After two years of building and a lifetime of dreaming, Jim Moshonsky can feel the wind in his hair... as he flies above the treeline.
The mechanical engineer built Canada's first Air-Cam, a two-person, low-flying float plane with an open cockpit.
"It's Magic Carpet Ride, I guess, is the closest you can get to it because there's nothing around you," he said.
"You're just out in the open, out in the air, flying around. It's a fantastic experience."
Moshonsky's plane is one of only 200 Air-Cam planes in the world. Now that he's test-piloted the craft, he's excited to bring friends and family along for a ride.
"There's not too many newer designs with open cockpits. People want to go fast. People want to go places in airplanes. This one's not about that. It's about flying slow and sticking around."
