Shooting suspect flees police, removes tracking device

THUNDER BAY -- A man accused of a recent shooting incident on Gore Street is on the run.

Anishinabek Police Service on Sunday said they responded to a family dispute at a residence on Fort William First Nation and a male suspect, identified as Robert Ivan Bannon, 25, fled on foot upon the arrival of police.

He later cut off a court-ordered tracking device.

The suspect is wanted for a number offences related to the Saturday incident and for breaching his court orders.

Anyone with information is asked to phone police at 1-888-310-1122 or 911. The public is advised not to engage with Bannon should he be spotted.
