The city is looking to shortlist three sites Monday night for a proposed events centre,
Pending city council’s approval, Innova Park, the downtown north core and land near the Thunder Bay International Airport will become the top three sites.
Once the sites are approved, administration is recommending that the city apply for federal Private Public Partnership funding and issue a request for proposal to do a Phase 2 feasibility study on the event centre.
Also Monday, council will decide whether to approve a new strategic plan. The plan lays out a vision for the city to be healthier, greener, have a more diversified economy and be better run over the coming years.
