Fire investigators say they likely won't be able to determine the cause of a blaze that levelled a home in Shuniah Tuesday.
Volunteer fire crews were called to the home just off Lakeshore Drive around 6 a.m. But the building was already fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and the house was completely destroyed.
Shuniah Fire Chief Blair Arthur said he's been able to determine the fire started on the main floor, somewhere between the bathroom and the kitchen.
But because of the extensive damage, he added that the cause of the fire will likely remain undetermined.
Two people were home when the fire started, but they managed to escape unharmed.
