Significant rainfall possible for Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the city of Thunder Bay, warning of the potential for significant rainfall Thursday evening and Friday.

Environment Canada issued the advisory Thursday morning, warning that rain is forecast to move into portions of Northern Ontario near Lake Superior Thursday evening and persist into Friday.

Significant rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 millimetres are likely along the western and northern shores of Lake Superior.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor this situation closely.
