Single-vehicle collision sends two to hospital

A car carrying three women was damaged extensively in the collision on Dawson Road early Wednesday.

THUNDER BAY - Two women were sent to hospital following a single-vehicle collision on Dawson Road, near Law Road.

Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 9:45 a.m. to the scene of the collision. The collision involved three occupants, all travelling in the same vehicle

Upon arrival, an undetermined number of occupants were trapped inside the car, and emergency crews required extrication equipment to assist the injured patients.

Two women were rushed to hospital about 40 minutes after responders were dispatched to the area.

Of the three occupants, one sustained life-threatening injuries, one sustained non-life threatening injuries, and one sustained minor injuries.

Emergency Medical Services, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, Ontario Provincial Police, and city police responded to the collision.

The cause of the crash is unknown at the time.
