Sioux Lookout fire destroys Front Street building

A fire on Friday afternoon in Sioux Lookout led to the evacuation of several nearby businesses and residences.

A fire on Friday afternoon in Sioux Lookout led to the evacuation of several nearby businesses and residences.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Friday evening, says the blaze broke out at 62 Front Street, home of Fathead's Bar and Grill.

There were no injuries, but the building is being considered a total loss.

The fire marshal has been notified and the investigation continues. Emergency responders will remain on scene overnight as a precaution.

Police are asking anyone with information concerning the incident to contact Sioux Lookout OPP at 1-807-737-2020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
