Sioux Lookout man faces drug trafficking charges

Sioux Lookout man faces charges following an investigation into an alleged drug courier.

THUNDER BAY – One Sioux Lookout man is in custody after provincial police seize 18 grams of cocaine, electronic devices and $2,310 cash on Monday.

In a release issued Wednesday, OPP conducted an investigation into an alleged drug courier operating through the Northwest region. Police found and arrested the suspect in Thunder Bay.

Police say officers located and seized 18 grams of cocaine, electronic devices and about $2,310 cash.

As a result of the investigation, Michael O’Gormon, 39, of Sioux Lookout has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000 and obstruct peace officer.

The suspect was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Thunder Bay Provincial Court by video on March 15 to answer to the charges.
