Sisters arrested in Oxy bust

Police have two women in custody following an oxycodone seizure on Thursday at the Thunder Bay International Airport.

The OPP’s organized crime enforcement bureau officials said two sisters were arrested and charged with attempting to smuggle $28,000 worth of the drug to Weagamow First Nation.

Both women were released and are scheduled to appear in court to face charges for possessing oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking and trafficking in oxycodone.

Charged were Samantha Chikane, 21 and Eleanor Chikane, 18.
