The city’s police force welcomed six new officers Wednesday.

The first class constables who were sworn into the Thunder Bay Police Service are: Braydan Beck; Michael Coehlo; Trevor Dunn; Carl Hagstrom; Jarrett Hay and Kyle Kehler.

The ceremony at the provincial courthouse was presided over by Justice Dino DiGiuseppe.

Const. Beck said he was happy to have his wife and family at the courthouse to support him during the ceremony. He added that the process took a lot of learning and training, and he is excited to get started in his new career.
City police Chief JP Levesque presented the new constables with their warrant cards and badges.

Having gone through the process himself, he told Thunder Bay Television that he could relate to what the new police officers were feeling.
The new officers are set to begin next week.
