THUNDER BAY - There are at least 25 small business owners under the age of 30, who have the Community Economic Development Commission to thank for their success.
During a small ceremony in Thunder Bay Friday, the CEDC singled those business owners out for praise.
The Entrepreneur Centre puts aspiring small business people between the ages of 18 and 29, in touch with mentors and training to help them develop business plans.
After a plan is drafted, entrepreneurs then have the chance to apply for 5-thousand dollar "Starter Company" grants.
Jesse Buob is a small business owner who's gone through the program. He says the mentorship and training provided through the program is invaluable.
The CEDC adds that it still has 23 starter grants to give out. Interested entrepreneurs under the age of 30 have until June 30th to qualify for the next round of grants.
