Small fire extinguished at Lucie Court home

THUNDER BAY -- A smoke alarm awakened a Luci Court resident and averted potential disaster.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue on Monday responded to a call for a structural fire at about 5 a.m. and arrived to find light smoke conditions on the main floor of the residence. Upon entry, they located and quickly extinguished a small fire in a rear bedroom.

A total of six pumpers and rescue trucks, an aerial ladder and a command vehicle responded to the incident.
