THUNDER BAY - Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Thunder Bay, with up to 15 centimetres expected overnight.

That's likely to cause hazardous winter driving conditions when snowfall begins in the late evening, the agency warned.

"This snow is a result of a low pressure system from the Southern Plains States that will spread across parts of northwestern Ontario tonight," it stated in a warning issued late Tuesday afternoon.

However, the snowfall is expected to end quickly Wednesday morning as the system moves rapidly to northeastern Ontario and into Quebec.
