Snowmobiler treated after falling through ice on Moose River

Police ask public to use caution on waterways.

MOOSONEE, Ont. -- A man in Moosonee, Ont. survived a frightening fall through the ice on Thursday. 

Ontario Provincial Police say they received a call at about 3:47 p.m. that a snowmobile rider had gone through the ice on the Moose River.  Moosonee OPP and the James Bay Ambulance Service responded. The man was treated for exposure and released.

Police remind the public to exercise caution around waterways during the spring hunt season.
