THUNDER BAY – Three outbreaks of COVID-19 reported at the Hogarth Riverview Manor long-term care home have been declared over, while two areas of the facility remained in outbreak Friday.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit announced Friday that outbreaks were considered over in the facility’s Rose (6N) and Tulip (6S) resident home areas.

On Thursday, the health unit had announced the end of another outbreak in the Lavender (2N) area.

Oubreaks remain active in the Birch Grove (first floor) and 4S areas, according to the health unit.

The extent and severity of the outbreaks remains unclear, as home operator St. Joseph’s Care Group has refused to share information on the number of cases, and whether the outbreaks caused any hospitalizations or deaths.

The health unit reported the district’s 92nd COVID-related death, and 22nd of the year, earlier on Friday.
