South side mischief incidents leads to arrest

City police have arrested and charged a man following multiple reports of mischief.

THUNDER BAY – A 36-year-old man is facing mischief-related charges after damaging property on the city’s south side Wednesday night.

Police responded to several 911 calls Wednesday night regarding a male who appeared to be in possession of an edged weapon.

The man was allegedly damaging property in the area of Simpson and Ogden streets.

As a result of the investigation, officers located and arrested the accused in the area of Pruden and McKenzie streets.

Police charged the 36-year-old man with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and three counts of mischief under $5,000.

The man was scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning and was released for a future court date.
