Southbridge Roseview announces eighth COVID-19 death

Southbridge Care Homes announces latest death associated with COVID-19 outbreak Sunday, as total number of active cases declines

THUNDER BAY – A major outbreak of COVID-19 has claimed the life of another resident at the Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, marking the facility's eighth death from the virus.

The outbreak now accounts for eight of ten total deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay District.

Southbridge Care Homes announced the news via updated numbers posted to its website Sunday morning. 

There were 26 active cases among residents as of Sunday, the company reported, a decline of one from Saturday. Cases among staff, meanwhile, increased by two from the previous day, to 22.

The home's total of 48 active cases has declined in recent days, after hitting a high of 71 on Dec. 4.
