Speedy driver nailed doing more than 160 km/h on Highway 11

(GREENSTONE)  On Sunday, August 16, 2015 at approximately 1:10 am, an officer from the Greenstone Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Highway 11, in the area of Long Lake 58 First Nation.

The officer observed the driver of a west bound Chevrolet Impala driving the vehicle at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the driver was found to be driving in excess of 160 km/hr in a posted 70 km/hr zone.

The 21 year old male driver from Brampton, Ont was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Perform Stunt-Speeding by 50 km/hr or more contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He is to appear in Provincial Offences Court in Geraldton on November 10, 2015.

As well, his driver’s licence was seized for seven days and the vehicle he was driving was impounded for seven days.
