Police in Nipigon charged a Peterborough man with theft after they stopped him for speeding in a car that was reported stolen.
The Nipigon OPP officer stopped the 41-year-old man and soon discovered that the car he was driving was reported stolen in Thunder Bay.
The officer also discovered that the Peterborough man was facing seven break-and-enter charges in connection with a string of break-ins at recreational properties in McAllister, Patience and Terrace Bay Townships.
Some of the items reported stolen from those recreational properties were found in the car the man was driving, police said.
