St. James Public School pivots to online learning only

COVID-19 cases also detected at Ecole Gron Morgan Public School, Woodcrest Public School and the Lakehead Adult Education Centre at Victoria Park.

THUNDER BAY -- St. James Public School will be immediately transitioning to virtual learning after a new case of COVID-19 was detected at the school and was deemed to have been acquired within the school setting.

Single cases at three other facilities on Monday, including Woodcrest Public School, Ecole Gron Morgan Public School and the Lakehead Adult Education Centre located at Victoria Park.

The pause of in-class learning at St. James Public School will be in place for at least a week, starting on Tuesday.

It's the third school in two days to temporarily halt in-class learning, Lakehead Public Schools on Sunday announced Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Kingsway Park Public School will go virtual only for at least a week after outbreaks were declared at the schools.
