St. Joseph’s Care Group will launch its news Centre for Applied Health Research on Friday. Hospital officials said the unveiling will be the centerpiece of the organization’s 10th annual research showcase.

Hospital officials said the unveiling will be the centerpiece of the organization’s 10th annual research showcase.

"The creation of this ventre marks an important milestone for the Care Group," saif Tracy Buckler, President & CEO of St. Joseph’s Care Group, in a release issued on Tuesday.

"By bringing together leading-edge clinicians and the brightest minds in research into a more formalized structure, we continue to strengthen our commitment to improve client care."

The research showcase will be staged at the Best Western Nor’Wester hotel and will feature a number of exhibits, including a pilot evaluation of a new same-day counselling service, NorthBeat, who are exploring the needs of Northern Ontario youth suffering from early psychosis and decision-making ability in adolescents when it comes to eating behaviour.
