THUNDER BAY - A standoff that took place overnight on Christina Street has ended peacefully.
According to Thunder Bay Police Service, officers responded to a call for service regarding an individual in distress at a residence on the 200 block of Christina Street East just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday night.
The Emergency Task Unit was deployed, a command post was established, and the area was contained.
Police made contact with the resident who then surrendered to police after agreeing to exit the home after 3 a.m.
The individual was then transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Police would like to thank the residents in the contained area for their patience during this incident.
